IT Coordinator Job in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania US

Achievement House Cyber Charter School is seeking an IT Coordinator for our Oakmont location.  This is a fulltime, 12 month position.

 

Under the direction of the school’s Chief Information Officer this position is responsible for managing and supporting the school’s network, desktop/laptop computers and other telecommunication systems in our Oakmont and New Florence locations.  This includes providing consultation and support to users in at least those two locations on a variety of issues related to computer networks and telecommunication systems.

 

Responsibilities will include:  1) Maintain and administer telephone and voice mail systems in the school.  2) Remain current on new technologies to determine how they may assist the school to accomplish its goals.  3) Install and configure technology equipment and software.  4) Integrating various Internet-based content provider’s grade book information into a centralized grade book in a to-be-determined new Learning Management System.  5) Perform basic fault determination on all information technology systems when problems are reported.  6) Perform basic system repairs and system upgrades when required.  7) Update web-pages as needed.   8) Assist teachers and office personnel in the use of information technologies.  9) Provide first level technical support to staff.  10) Coach and mentor teachers in the integration of technology in the classroom.

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to:  1) Learn new maintenance methods and procedures as needed.  2) Perform manual labor, including frequent bending, stooping and lifting.  3) Prioritize assigned work.  4) Understand and carry out oral and written directions and maintain records.  5) Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.  6) Establish and maintain effective working relationship with those contacted in the course of work.  7) Set up systems and load school standard software.  8) Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

 

Candidates must have at least one year successful experience managing and supporting desktop/laptop computers and computer networks in multiplatform environment and programming experience in multiple web-based (e.g. PHP, JAVA, etc.) and scripting (e.g. PowerShell) languages.   Child abuse and criminal background clearances are required.
