Overview:
The Desktop Supervisor position is both a direct technical site support for desk side and end user support, smart hands support for other global IT teams such as Server, Storage, and Backup team, IT Security, and Voice and Data. The position also has direct oversight of other IT site specific support located in the EMEA region. These IT resources will report directly to the EMEA IT Supervisor. This position is directly reporting up to the IT Senior Manager of Global IT Service Delivery in the IT Infrastructure and Operations team.
The Desktop Supervisor will provide daily oversight and direction for their direct reports as needed, review daily tickets, assist in the hardware procurement process, oversight projects for upgrades and hardware refreshing/upgrades. This position will help roll out and oversight a Europe managed print service. Some additional responsibilities will include oversight of mobile telecommunications and assist with IT Infrastructure refresh projects.
Responsibilities:
Supervisor Resource Management
· Oversight of EMEA region and the IT human resources for EMEA
· Oversight of each European office
· Travel as needed for direct support and business meeting/consultation for better IT Service Delivery
· Management communications on IT Infrastructure planning
· Business liaison to discuss and review IT projects and to help gather requirements on business initiatives
Asset Management
· Tracking and updating asset database.
· Desktops and laptops machine allocation for clients
· Cross shipping equipment between sites
Hardware Refresh Rollout
· Manage projects relating to deployment and recovery of PC equipment
· Windows 7 rollout/deployment
· Prioritizing rollout based on standards and business needs
Client Software Library Management
· Assist in management and use of Microsoft software library for client/desktop software including the use of Symantec and other remote deployment and support technologies
· All other client/desktop software management.
Ticket resolution
· Daily review and resolution of tickets both incident and service requests
Documentation
· Identify, establish, and document procedures and processes.
Image Management
· Operating System Image improvement, troubleshooting and maintenance
· Identify software or components that will need to be upgraded, updated or implemented on to the image
Desktop Operations
· Special Projects
· Urgent requests
· New technology research, testing and development at times
· Technical Consultation provider to the customers
· New software testing/development before go live
· New hardware testing/development before go live
· Support all company IT approved software/hardware
· Tier III technical troubleshooting support
Qualifications:
· Degree in Computing/Computer Science/Information Systems or qualified by experience
· Several years in a Supervisor/Manager role-with experience of managing a team
· Technical ‘hands-on’ experience in Desktop Support and technologies
· Strong verbal and written skills (English essential- other European languages a plus)
· Calm, methodical and organized-able to manage conflicting priorities
