JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Administrative Services Division Director, the IT Director of Information Technology Services Department provides vision, leadership, and a County technology plan for the development and implementation of initiatives of four work units: Infrastructure Services, Client Services, Geographical Information Services, and Applications Services. This position ensures optimal service levels in a continually evolving work and technical environment. Position serves as the County's electronic information and records Security Officer.
Prepares information to develop proposals and counter-proposals for collective bargaining and cost negotiation proposals. Responsible for the integration of all departments' technology objectives and goals in support of and consistent with the County's Strategic Plan.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Directs and oversees the development of each departmental unit's work plans. Directly supervises four supervisory staff. Establish goals of the department according to County rules, regulations, and procedures. This includes but is not limited to; hiring, promoting or transferring staff, assigning work, provide rewards, verbal and written discipline, suspension and termination.
• Responds to step I or higher grievances with the authority to settle grievances on behalf of the County.
• Supports the County's goals through the development and maintenance of strategic information systems plan for operating systems, communications, applications systems and hardware.
• Develops an understanding of the needs and changing priorities of other county divisions/departments through continuous interaction with Division Director's with a focus on creating solutions to customers' concerns and needs.
• Designs, plans, and manages all aspects of Information Technologies.
• Conceptualizes, implements, and delivers multiple projects on time and within budget.
• Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer science, systems analysis, business administration, or a related field and five (5) years progressive responsibility in a related field with two (2) years experience in a management role.
Valid Minnesota Driver's License or evidence of mobility.
SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS:
