Job Description:

The Director of IT will have ownership, responsibility and accountability for all internal technology systems. The ideal candidate will have direct hands on experience supporting and automating internal systems as well as experience managing IT for a large technology organization such as a VAR, ISV, or SAS vendor. We are looking for a Director with a customer service "attitude" and a strong belief that nothing improves without being measured and tested on a frequent basis.  As Director of IT, you will have the exclusive opportunity to have full ownership of the systems that maintain productivity for our employees and customers.  You will work with WideOrbit management to constantly and diligently improve productivity, reduce risk, and increase customer satisfaction.   Responsibilities include budgeting, planning, disaster recovery testing, security auditing, motivating, managing and hiring resources.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Plan, hire and budget for maximum productivity and minimized risk. 

·         Monitor productivity, system health and user satisfaction through surveys, automated health checks, and preventive maintenance.

·         Manage IT support to customers in partnership with the “Nordstroms” of customer support teams in the media industry

·         Identify, manage and recruit the talent that is needed for productivity and customer satisfaction maximization

·         Responsible for building strategic road maps for business process and investments in technology.

 

 

Here’s what we’re looking for:

·         BA/BS Degree required.

·         3+ years of experience in a director role with a growing, high technology company. 

·         3+ years of hands-on expertise with information technology including implementation, security, system back up procedures, remote access:

o        Network architecture, data center management, platform design

o        Scripting and Integration

o        Multi office VOIP phone/voice mail systems, customer service backup answering services, video conferencing and other remote meeting services, corporate cell phone management

o        Physical and logical disaster recovery planning and testing for the above.

o        Email and calendaring (currently Exchange/Outlook) including security (anti-spam, anti-virus, disaster recovery and remote access)

o        Desktop IT support for MSFT office across the company as well as systems in use for our engineering and development teams

o        Fault Tolerant Platform and infrastructure support for on-premise systems for accounting, HRIS, time and expense tracking, stock option tracking, and other administrative systems. Includes integration between critical reporting systems.

o        Salesforce.com, SAAS based payroll functions and other SAAS systems

o        Colocation / NOC / datacenter management, including internal needs as well as managing customer systems housed in Company Managed Service and DR facilities requiring public company audit and systems control audit support for clients

o        Facility Security and readiness (i.e. systems in conference rooms always ready for meetings with clients and Board of Directors)

·         Leadership experience including experience motivating and managing local, remote office, and outsourced staff.

·         Business acumen to negotiate and manage vendor contracts as well as design cost effective solutions for company IT investments.

·         Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously in a spontaneous, fast paced, growth oriented environment.
