Aavalar Consulting has been contracted by a large client in the Delaware Valley to provide several information security engineers on a contract or contract to hire basis. This is a lead role for an expert with experience using tools like Nitro SIEM (Security Information and Event Manager) as well as Vontu (Data Loss Protection). Experience with penetration testing (ethical hackers) is also highly valued.

What projects will the consultant be involved with?:
Ongoing assessments of security risks, evaluation of new technologies, penetration testing, and configuration / reconfiguration of data security hardware/software.
Responsibilities:
• Be an expert resource for data security issues. Recommend solutions, respond to incidents and resolve outstanding issues.
• Explore and recommend new info security technologies.
• Define and document security standards, requirements, policies and procedures.
• Assist with network and system and network designs to enhance security and comply with security policies.
• Troubleshoot security hardware and software, and respond incidents as they occur.
• Tune, maintain and monitor security infrastructure.
Role with the group: Info Security Expert
Required Skills:
• Familiarity with government and industrial info security standards.
• 6+ years of Systems Administration, Network Engineering and IT security
• Ability to muti-task and stay focused in a highly dynamic and interrupt driven environment.
• Really perfect verbal and written communication skills
• Specific experience configuring/improving security for operating systems, applications and services
• Expert level experience with TCP/IP protocol, network design, firewall configuration, load balancing, remote access, vulnerability scanning, VPN and DMZ management
• Understanding of scripting languages and technologies such as shell scripting, Perl, etc.
• Technical knowledge and experience with multi factor authentication, application security, content filtering, network protocols, access control, encryption, etc.
• Understanding of security protocols. Example: such as PKI, RADIUS, Secure Sockets Layer, etc.
Desired Skills:
• Financial services or highly regulated industry experience
• BS or MS in Comp. Sci.
• Security specific certifications. Examples: CISSP, MCSE
