Position Summary:
Brady Corporation is looking for a motivated, forward thinking architect to drive our infrastructure to the next level. The ideal candidate is excited to research and define our future state for networking, application delivery, end user compute and cloud. Brady is strong adapter of SAAS and other cloud technologies. The idea candidate will have an interest in both cloud and on premise technologies and continue to move Brady ahead in the infrastructure space. The successful candidate will be a thought leader by taking initiative to determine our architectural future state and persuade others to follow the suggested road maps. The candidate will be excellent at problem solving at the tactical level while staying situationally aware of the strategic plan. In addition, business acumen and a desire to understand and impact business growth through partnership with internal clients are key skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for defining infrastructure architecture vision and the associated road map to implement.
- Must be a leader with the skills to motivate and influence across IT departments and business leaders.
- Stays informed about technology trends, ability to differentiate between emerging, hype and critical evolutions in technologies. Can assess impact to the organization and drive the appropriate transformation.
- Utilizes industry competitive knowledge to apply current and appropriate ideas in a forward-looking manner to support the business drive IT efficiency.
- Willing to creatively destruct current paradigms and architect solutions based on newly established best practices.
- Responsible for establishing IT infrastructure standards, and procedures.
- Provides architectural leadership on strategic projects
Required Knowledge, Skills Abilities
- Experienced in Infrastructure Architecture with minimum of 10 years of technical background
- At least 3 – 5 years of leading IT infrastructure design and implementation of large-scale, highly available, high-volume systems infrastructures for a medium or large IT organization
- In depth understanding of key technologies in infrastructure domain such as virtualization, server/storage/network technologies, cloud computing(public, private and hybrid).
- Working familiarity with SaaS, IaaS PaaS technologies and vendors
- Experience in working with enterprise storage and an understanding of SAN and NAS appliances
- Knowledge of LAN, WAN, network routing algorithms to maximize efficiency
- Understanding of network security and other infrastructure security concepts
- Knowledge of Cisco, VMWare, Citrix, Netapp, and Intel platform is desirabl
- Thought leadership and the ability to develop a followership. Must be a trusted advisor.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Evidenced by the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
- Effective use of communication tools/methods such as Power Point, Visio, Modeling Tools Google Apps as well as the ability to effectively deliver presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills – lead, collaborate, facilitate, and negotiate as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Understanding of TOGAF is a strong plus
- Knowledge of telcom/cable/satellite industry a strong plus
- Can work flexible hours
