Open Dealer Exchange has a direct hire opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Manager to join their team.  ODE is looking for someone with broad infrastructure knowledge and management experience.  The position will require someone with the following knowledge and skill:

 

·         Experience with leading and participating in Application and Infrastructure support processes for high profile, mission critical applications.

·         Experience with identifying support issues and recommending improvements across multiple applications supporting multiple lines of business.

·         Experience with managing migration/upgrade/roll-out projects.

·         Familiarity with .NET and Java enterprise server platforms (IIS, WebSphere Application Server, JBoss, etc).

·         Knowledge of typical network infrastructure.

·         Familiarity with Database server configuration and administration.

Job Description:
 

Candidate will be expected to direct and coordinate activities of the IT Infrastructure and Application support teams. Critical needs include responding to related production problems and pursuing/implementing remedies quickly and effectively. Candidate will be required to follow and help refine all development and production implementation procedures and change control processes.

The role of the members of the Infrastructure Engineering team is to proactively maintain the server and desktop infrastructure across multiple locations to ensure high availability of mission critical applications.  Ability to efficiently resolve issues at the server and desktop levels is critical. In addition to maintaining the environment, the Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for recommending and implementing technological improvements and supporting the business teams in delivering mission critical projects.

Job Responsibilities:

 

Candidate will be responsible for:

·         Managing IT Infrastructure Engineering team and all activities performed in support of the production, test and development environments across all lines of business.

·         Overall maintenance, coordination, and evaluation of these environments.

·         Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, including:

o        Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees

o        Planning, assigning, and directing work of team

o        Appraising and formally evaluating performance

o        Rewarding and disciplining employees as needed

o        Addressing all complaints and resolving problems

·         Providing input on organization's technical strategy and continuing research of new products and solutions.

·         Providing technical and supervisory support of infrastructure team, responsible for support of computers, printers/copiers, applications, servers and networks and other technical issues with timely and accurate communications of status updates to internal customers on all open requests.

·         Providing technical guidance to Infrastructure team.

·         Coordinating infrastructure activities with all other organizational teams.

·         Reviewing production and operational reports and direct the resolution of infrastructure/environmental problems to ensure application stability and prevent unplanned outages.

·         Determining responsibilities of assigned Infrastructure employees and contractors to accomplish business objectives and maintain application stability.

·         Working with the Director of IT to maintain high service levels across the organization.

·         Working with other internal and external infrastructure engineers to maintain mission critical services and applications.

·         Working within the Application Development team to deliver business critical projects and maintain high service levels.

 
Job Requirements:

 

·         Excellent communication skills including listening, explaining concepts, giving instructions, mentoring and creating understandable/accurate documentation.

·         Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

·         Ability to effectively present information to senior management, employees or external partners.

·         Willingness and aptitude for working with various new infrastructure technologies as needs arise.

·         Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years current experience in a support environment. Technical management experience is required.  

·         Experience with strong Microsoft and Linux server background.

·         Strong experience of Microsoft server technologies, which should include the following:

o        Windows 200x Server

o        Windows XP Professional

o        Active Directory (Windows 200x)

o        SQL 200x (Database server configuration and administration.)

·         Experience in Linux server technologies.

·         Experience in IBM server technologies, which should include the following:

o        WebSphere Application Server

o        DB2 Server

·         Experience with x86 based servers (Dell and HP)

·         Experience with server virtualization

·         Experience with Dell desktops and laptops

·         Experience with typical corporate Ethernet and wireless networking technologies

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

·         IBM Datapower SOA Appliance Server

·         VMWare Server 2.0 and VMWare ESXi 3.5

·         Microsoft ISA IIS

·         VOIP technologies

·         Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business or related experience.
