Role Description:
St. James is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of IT Lead Project Manager. In this role, an individual would lead complex software and hardware development projects, coordinate with outside vendors and contractors, oversee activities of other IT team members and cross-functional teams, and provide backup coverage for IT team members. St. James strives to utilize technology to create a competitive advantage in the marketplace. With this in mind, the IT Lead Project Manager will have a high-visibility role in the organization and would be required to report-out frequently to senior management on the status of projects. Strong communication skills and an understanding of the core business will be a must for candidates. The role will also be required to partner with our sister technology firm, St. James Technologies, to design, develop, and implement new technological solutions for the industry. Some potential projects will revolve around business intelligence, mobile device management and development, network infrastructure, and long-range wireless communications. With our unique business of operating on the Mississippi River, the IT Lead Project Manager will be faced with some unique challenges associated with deploying and maintaining technology in the marine environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related IT management field
5+ Years’ experience with IT project management
PMI, CAPM, or PMP certification desired
Demonstrated experience and expertise in IT project management, concepts, procedures, and standards
Demonstrated ability to select, organize, and lead cross-functional teams
Experience with Business Intelligence deployments desired
Experience with mobile device deployment, management, and custom development desired
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Functional knowledge of project management tools
Knowledge of network troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution careers@sjstevedore.com
