IT Manager, Benefit Systems

Job Summary This position is responsible for providing direction to a team of Analysts and team leads in the development and maintenance of Benefit systems. Responsible for the administrative duties of hiring, budget preparation and tracking, purchasing of equipment, conducting employee reviews, staffing etc. Provides guidance and mentoring to staff as required. Works with business owners and IT Management to set priorities of projects and associated tasks. Ensures that benefit configuration meets the needs of the business. Develop, implement and monitor standard benefit rules across all systems. Monitor measurement of work against documented performance standards. ã?? Essential Functions: Provides direction and manage day-to-day operation of BESTeam benefit configuration teams based on business priorities and management direction. Implements strategies and technology to proactively reduce the likelihood of production issues and/or improve the overall support of benefits. Responsible for all administrative duties of a manager within the I/T Department (budget, status reports, hiring, training, etc). Ensures Benefit teams follow established procedures and benefit rules and meets documented performance standards, or trending toward meeting those standards. Provides status reports to Management as appropriate, highlighting risks and issues appropriately. Participate in meetings between BESTeam and customers where there is medium to high degree of visibility to Magellan Health. Provides mentoring and training to those managed, as appropriate. Minimum Requirements: Education: ã??BA/BS. Experience: 8 years. Industry: Managed healthcare or Insurance Industries. 8 years of claims/benefit experience; 3 years of managing or leading groups of 12 or more. An equivalent combination of experience and education is acceptable. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent people skills. Ability to work with and lead technical and non-technical staff. Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office Tools. ã?? Preferred Qualifications: Education: Bachelor ??s degree in IT, Business or Healthcare related field or equivalent on the job experience. Experience: 10 or more years of experience working in claims/benefit/IT role. 5 years leadership and/or management experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent understanding of computer software, claims payment systems. Knowledge of HR policies and procedures. Very strong leadership qualities. Familiar with the duties of an IT manager.
