The Director would like to see candidates who have come up through the software development/architecture ranks and he will review candidates who currently hold Lead or Architect roles. The role will be "hands on," therefore candidates with only management/project management experience will not be considered.
The Web Applications Manager is responsible for ensuring the full functionality and integrity of Randstad's external web applications used by customers and temporary staff. The Manager should also work to ensure these systems are supporting all strategic initiatives surrounding the operational and financial goals of the company. The Manager will be responsible for coordinating all development, analysis and production activities of the external website systems while managing a team of direct reports and communicating frequently with management.
Position Accountabilities:
- The External Applications Manager will establish the scope of new projects
- Confer with management to determine priorities of new projects
- Confer with management to measure user satisfaction providing recommendations and improvements as required
- Aligns department priorities with business needs. Communicates these priorities to management, users and other Information systems personnel
- Ensure day to day functionality of the External Applications maintaining data integrity, including database recovery/backup/verification and applications/systems performance
- Ensure that functional specifications for enhancements are complete and accurate
- Establish testing protocol for validation of new applications or versions, including performance monitoring
- Establish protocol for technical architecture design and maintenance, system design and development of external applications
- Provide mentoring to developers for technical design and implementation
- Prioritize developer tasks
- Ensure that team designs, develops, tests and migrates changes to production using change
Management standards:
- Provide management with regular status report of progress
- Ensure user requirements are met with new systems and enhancements
- Establish and maintain test data and environments
- Ensure Communication of system changes/progress/status to users as necessary
Qualifications Experience:
- 7+ years experience in Information Systems
- 4+ years of proven Project Management experience including scope, design, and implementation
- 2+ years of team management experience
- Experience with development and support of intranet and internet sites
Functional Technical Competencies:
- Proficient with web development, web 2.0 methodologies, Java, J2EE, web services
- Proficient with XML, XHTML, EJB, JDBC, JMS, Visual Basic, VB Script, AJAX, XSLT, DHTML, JavaScript
- Proficient with Roxen CMS
- Solid understanding of Agile processes
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
- Hands on knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, including SQL development
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM
- Knowledge of job board systems
- Proven Project Management experience with Scope, Design Implementation of Internet Software Applications
- Understanding or experience job board systems
- Knowledge of best practices for software integration
