IT Procurement Manager
Our client a leading Asset Manager and Investment Management Company is seeking the services of an experienced IT Procurement Manager who is capable of managing the execution and delivery of new and existing suppliers and services across a variety of different procurement categories.
This role is in the Technology function within the COO Group which provides IT services to the business, globally. These include the development and support of business applications, operational, compliance, finance, legal, marketing and customer service functions.
This role is to deliver commercial sourcing and procurement initiatives as well as on-going supply governance/risk management support across our client’s business functions. The IT Procurement Manager will look to achieve value for money services, maximise operational efficiency, and provide effective risk mitigation and operational controls across a range of supplier arrangements that our client has entered into.
The primary duties will include taking responsibility for leading contract and service SLA negotiations, assisting and mentoring service owners in managing external supplier relationships in particular the performance management, service delivery, SLA monitoring and reporting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Proactively managing new suppliers, services and service extensions in conjunction with business sponsors and other stakeholders to maximise the benefits sought
- Undertaking supplier and contract management activities, including: facilitating the setup and engaging in / providing oversight of supplier governance arrangements; managing contractual processes formal contract changes; supplier benchmarking financial/risk assessment reviews
- Ensuring accurate and up to date of contracts and supplier records are maintained, and commercially sensitive information managed in line with information security standards
- Maintaining awareness and leveraging commercial opportunities for the commercial teams globally
- Keeping internal stakeholders informed of commercial activities and progress through collaborative working and pro-active communication
- Establishing an engagement process and maintaining awareness with stakeholders of potential future commercial activity
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- In depth procurement skills in medium to large financial or similar organisation, with experience across a range of procurement categories, including: professional service engagements; contingent staff hire; legal services; corporate facilities, marketing and technology
- Experience of resolving disputes and knowledge of English contract law concepts and contract term constructs
- Ability to multi task and prioritise workload with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written verbal, with the ability to present ideas and concepts succinctly
- Business aware and customer focused
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and commercial leadership skills to ensure maximum benefit derived from suppliers in fulfilment of the organisations requirements
- Experience of supplier selection via ITT/RFP/RFI/ assessment centre activities
- CIPS or equivalent qualification/experience
Given the nature of the role you will need to possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work face-to-face with senior management and stakeholders and therefore excellent presentation and communications skills are key. Strong team working skills, and ability to operate across teams, cultural and organisational boundaries is a must.
