IT Product Support Specialist (Pre-Sales) recruitment

My client is urgently looking for an IT Product Support Specialist (Pre-Sales) to join their vibrant team, based in Central London.

• A current driving licence is mandatory / MUST HAVE FOR THE POSITION! You will be asked to  travel to Customer(s) and other locations.

Position Summary

ü  The IT Product Support Specialist (Pre-Sales) will be responsible for preparing technical quotations and proposals and presenting these to customers to support the sales targets.

ü  Provision of day-to-day support for the sales organisation, producing technical solutions across a range of products and services including pricing quotations, preparing and writing proposals, Answering ITT/RFI/RFP responses and presenting to customers to influence their buying decision through the professionalism and excellence of response.

ü  Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of technology and market trends within the IT industry. Specialise in a technology field to advise and educate other Pre-Sales personnel and other departments within the organisation:

Pre-Sales support with technical skills across a number of areas including:

ü  Virtualisation

ü  High Availability Hosting

ü  Managed Services

ü  Advanced Continuity Solutions

ü  Workplace, Distributed Systems and Communications.

Educational Qualifications

• Desirable – Degree / HND / HNC in a IT related field or relevant industry experience

Professional Qualifications

Desirable Accreditations:

• VMware VSP / VTSP / VCP

• Storage Platforms

• Distributed Systems, IBM Midrange, Intel, Linux, , Sun, Unix

• Communications (Voice Data). LAN, WAN, VoIP

• Exposure to Major Suppliers – Cisco, EMC, HP, IBM, Juniper etc.

Technical Expertise

• Cloud Services

• Server and Blade Systems

• SAN technology

• Replication Technology and Vaulting

• Knowledge of IT market, Trends and Industry

• Networking and Communications

• New 2012 product areas in Managed Services to  include, SAP, Oracle eBusiness Suite, Hadoop, Oracle Enterprise Linux, XenServer, Inmarge and support for the LAMP stack

Aptitude / Disposition

• A ‘Can do’ attitude and self-motivated

• Self-managing and team player

• Excellent Customer facing skills

• Good presentation skills

• Strong technical background

• Good market awareness

• Ability to work under pressure to timescales in a demanding sales environment
