IT Programmer

Shenandoah Furniture, Inc. is a medium sized upholstery company specializing

in transitional and contemporary upholstered furniture developed for retailers in

the medium to upper range in price.

This position will be reporting to the IT Systems and Engineering manager and

will require the individual to be proficient in the use of Visual Basic for

Applications, specifically within Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, along with

strong use of Microsoft Office Suite 2003 or higher. The position will require

strong organizational and follow-up skills. Individual must be self-motivated, able

to multi-task, and execute those tasks on a daily basis with minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Ability to deconstruct current Excel reporting tools in order to understand logic

behind the tool and allow continued support or modifications to current tools.

-Create new user tools by pulling AS400 data down to a PC level and manipulate

using Microsoft Excel to create custom user interfaces and reports

-Will be required setup new hardware devices and implement in various locations

-Helpdesk support for all PC users

-Will be responsible for running new data/phone cables when needed

-Help with AS400 data entry as needed

-Will be required to generate reports as requests are made

Experience/Qualifications:

-Certification or degree in Programming/Software development

-2+ year experience coding desktop applications using VBA, Visual Basic.NET,

or VB6

-Ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal supervision

-Capable of maintaining a good working relationship and positive attitude with

fellow employees

-Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

-Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills

-Ability and desire to take initiative and be pro-active

Other Preferred Experience

-Knowledge of IBM AS400 iSeries data management system

-Background in upholstered furniture and IT practices

-RPG programming

-Experience in Server, network configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

-Macintosh laptop and desktop exposure

Interview Requirements:

Qualified interviewee’s will need to be willing to demonstrate their Programming

skills by writing a small VBA program using Microsoft Excel onsite
