Modis is currently looking for a Technical Project Manager for a 7 month contract in Pasadena, CA.

 

Release Project Manager - Pasadena, CA, Duration: 7 month contract

 

A little background on the project:

Web content migration project with multiple deliverables, stakeholders, and tasks. Needing someone who enjoys digging into to the task level and can handle various stakeholders, moving parts, and overlapping deliverables. This requires a seasoned project manager.

 

Position Description: Activities include coordinating the delivery of multiple projects, developing cost benefit analyses for the program, communicating to an executive committee, creating and reporting program status utilizing a dashboard, allocating resources across the multiple projects, defining project governance policies and managing the financial concerns of the program. Must be able to utilize and effectively communicate technical components of an initiative to applicable parties.

 

Skill Set: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Must be self motivated, well organized and have strong innovation and facilitation skills. Proven oral and written communication skills; excellent business presentation skills. Excellent analytical skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels and across organizational lines, including the business units. Ability to effectively utilize external vendors and resources throughout the organization. Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.

Expert understanding of pm methodology and approach

Update risk/issue log

Follow up on *open issues*

Document progress

Issue follow up / mitigation planning

 

Type of background you want to see:

Very technical background

more than five years of hands on (real world) project management skill

NOT someone who's role was to project management as an addition to their *DAY JOB*

Strong understanding of project management daily rigor (live by the issue log and schedule)

 

How many people will they manage:

The pm will NOT manage any one, but will manage projects with as many as 20 people on the project team
