IT Project Manager

The Project Manager/Business Analyst position is a blended role. As a Business Analyst, the role is to Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow. This includes interviewing, gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to development teams throughout the software lifecycle. As a Project Manager, the role is to manage approved IT projects. This includes managing expectations, resolving issues and mitigating risks.

The Project Manager/Business Analyst is expected to work effectively in a matrix organization, apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support the development process and ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications.

• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
• Utilize your experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
• Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
• Develop detailed project plans and milestones, coordinating with cross-organizational team members (technology, business, vendors, etc.) to negotiate resource allocations.
• Control and modify schedules, milestones and resources as corporate needs change for multiple projects simultaneously, identifying and managing dependencies and critical path; minimize exposures and risks.
• Conduct regular status meetings with project teams to manage progress against the project plan and publish status reports for management, project sponsors and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are clearly understood; understand how to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully.
• Communicate changes related to scheduled software releases and projects – verbally or through written documentation to sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years IT experience; 3+ years business and technical requirements analysis and testing, 3 years proven project management experience with full project life cycle; PMP Certification preferred.
• Well-versed in analyzing complex business processes, proposing and explaining multiple solution options, and negotiating a compromise where appropriate.
• Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
• Experience implementing packaged software and major system migration projects.
• Exercise independent judgment, effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
• Ability to keep multiple projects with overlapping schedules on track.
• Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Focused and assertive with strong customer service orientation.
• Curious, goal oriented, highly self-motivated and directed.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; Able to effectively lead discussions.
• Solid understanding of technology and technological interdependencies; development/programming experience is a plus.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
