IT Project Manager – Sourcing Development Team

C.H. Robinson's dedicated IT Team consists of 350+ highly skilled individuals working in unison to help our customers achieve their business goals. We develop most of our applications in-house and have a sophisticated enterprise application suite based on the Microsoft platform.

Position Description
The Sourcing Development Team is seeking a highly motivated Program/Project Manager to help lead a multi-year effort to deliver a global supply chain system. This multi-year program is a collection of projects that will be delivered over the next few years and is a top priority for both the business and IT. It will bring the Sourcing business together on one platform to operate their business in a more efficient manner.

Responsibilities
- Manage program/project scope, schedule, cost
- Manage program roadmap
- Lead project planning, estimating and resourcing including building and reviewing the scope statements (both high-level and detailed), and making sure WBS and network diagrams are created
- Address, monitor and mitigate risks
- Communicate important matters having to do with the program/project to IT and Business (including executive level)
- Manage change requests
- Lead deployment activities: release scheduling, communication, coordination, etc.
- Facilitate business requirements sessions as needed
- Set and manage team milestones
- Contribute to the creation and enforcement of software development policies
- Ensure that the business and other IT dependent teams are staying on task and well informed
- Escalate issues to management in a timely manner and ensure that they are addressed and resolved
- Maintain a working knowledge of the systems
- Lead project reviews and follow up on action items
- Coordinate and communicate with vendor project managers and consultants

Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in information technology as a Project Manager managing the delivery of information technology solutions OR at least 5 years of comparable information technology experience in delivering business projects
- Strong facilitator; adept at running small to large meetings
- Ability to work hands-on with IT business
- Demonstrated success at building and maintaining efficient and effective teams
- Demonstrated success in the development and delivery of information technology solutions
- Proven track record of effectively delivering results in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities is a must
- Excellent organizational, leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Proactive, accountable, autonomous, and solutions oriented
- Experience with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project
- Excellent listening, verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing large programs/projects is required

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing AX or other ERP's is desired
- Knowledge of perishable and/or dry supply chain management systems is preferred

Required Education
Undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science/software engineering, or equivalent work experience. MBA or PMP certification is a plus. Six Sigma certifications are beneficial.
