IT Project Manager (Treasury and Capital markets) Job in Washington 20001, District Of Columbia US

 

Position: IT Project Manager

Location: Washington, DC

Duration:  12 months contract

Contract: W2 only

Interview: Phone and Face to Face

 

 

 

Required Skills:

-              The candidate is needed to manage the Summit upgrade / FT installation project and requires prior experience in managing similar projects.

-              Minimum 10 years experience in the IT development environment with at least the last 5 years in the financial domain (Treasury and Capital markets) as project manager.

-              Excellent relationship management, communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills.

-              Ability to develop and sustain close relationship with peers, business clients and external vendors.

-              Prior experience working with Summit application is required.

 

The Treasury and Capital Markets project manager will report to application delivery program officer/client relationship officer and will have overall responsibility for the oversight and management of the SUMMIT upgrade/FT installation project.

 

The candidate will (among other tasks):

-              Co-ordinate with the user group and the application vendor during the assessment phase.

-              Work closely with the project team members (developers, business analysts, vendor consultants and user leads) and put together all the details required to come up with the estimates for the development.

-              Get the sign-off from the user group on the requirements identified during the assessment.

-              Produce the assessment document with the statement of work and implementation plan

-              Document the project plan with clear responsibilities between application vendor and the in-house project team members.

-              Monitor the progress of the tasks and promptly escalate any potential issues.

-              Work with the other functional units in the IT department and make sure all the requirements are captured and documented as per the specifications.

-              Conduct regular status meetings with all the stake-holders and report on the status, issues and risks of the project tasks.

-              Closely monitor the deliverables by the vendor and promptly escalate the issues to Client relationship officer.

-              Project management professional certification (PMP.

-              Prior working experience as business analyst in Treasury and capital markets domain is desirable
