IT Projects Leader – Management Consultancy
This career opportunity provides the prospect to work for a well respected and successful specialist technology consultancy, which is expanding their North Amrican operation with the appointment of a Senior Project Manager for their banking securities industry technology consulting team. This is a senior level project leadership position, handling multiple technology transformation projects for financial institutions (primarily new system implementations), to ensure successful delivery within the agreed budgets and timescales. In addition this person will have the opportunity to review and develop methodologies and best practises, in order to help develop and grow a scaleable business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately estimate, build, agree, maintain and communicate multi-phase, multi-tier, multi-party project plans with mixed discipline project teams comprised of Internal, Client and other 3rd Party personnel.
- To provide direction and leadership to the client vendor project teams, driving and managing projects with medium to high business complexity and significant cultural challenges to a successful completion.
- To ensure consistency between Client Proposals, Contracts, Project Scope and Project Definition Documents in terms of effort, resources, costs, timescales, deliverables, responsibilities, milestones and payment terms
- Managing, controlling and monitoring project risks, progress against time and budget.
Required skills and experience:
- Must have successful senior level project leadership experience managing enterprise technology / software implementations to time and budget at financial instutions (either investment banks, asset managers or securities services firms etc). Cire front, middle or back office systems and business workflow experience would be ideal.
- This experience could have been gained working for another management consultancy (preferred), software vendor or system integrator.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Must have operated with clients at senior management level and be able to represent the company and the client diplomatically and effectively.
- Professional certifications are beneficial but not a pre-requisite (i.e. PMP, PMI, PRINCE 2 etc)
