IT Risk and Security Control (AVP) - Singapore

My client is a global bank providing investment, corporate and wealth services with a very impressive presence in Asia Pacific. The global information security and technology risk team is driven from Singapore and has a bank wide remit tosuport the data and infrastructure globally. This is a highly regarded team who identify and manage all aspects of information risk and technology security, integrating people, processes and technology in accordance with the bank's operating model. In this broad role you will have high level oversight whilst technically hands on in a highly visible role.

In this role you will be responsible for developing IT security configuration to maximise the effectiveness of security architecture. You will take a consultative approach in communicating threats and technology risks. You will provide functional leadership as an IT security SME whilst providing technical risk assessments and transparent mitigation. Working in partnership with the business, you will find and fix key exposures by targeting risk areas. There is a project aligned element to the role, working on a range of projects to support global IT security and Risk projects. You will get a huge amount of interaction with different areas of the business including compliance and audit. This is a technology role and you will need to be hands on enough to review and propose new technologies to identify security risk, vulnerabilities and non-compliance.

Candidates are required to have a business focus with a thorough understanding of technology and how technology enables the Investment Banking business. Your technical understanding should cover operating systems, network security, database and vulnerability assessments. You should have extensive experience across IT security and technology risk in an investment banking environment with an excellent understanding of risk management concepts and principles. Candidates are expected to have experience working on projects with knowledge of project management techniques. Soft skills are extremely important and you should have excellent communication skills with the ability to think laterally, with a pragmatic approach to complex technical solutions.
