IT Senior Systems Administrator Services (Aurora, CO)
Summary:
This Sr. Administrator position will focus mainly in the end-user services space to optimize the end-user experience related to workstations and applications.
Evaluates and designs database, web, storage, application, pc/desktop, management, or network infrastructures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain technical systems to support business processing requirements.
- Provide Level 2 and 3 technical support, assist in the evaluation of new products and services, and may manage vendor service level agreements.
- Install and troubleshoot systems to ensure functional objectives of the business are met.
- Implement and maintain system management software, as well as research, analyze, and implement software patches and hardware modifications to resolve deficiencies.
- Perform capacity and resource planning by assessing risks and developing contingency plans.
- Maintain production change control schedule and, when needed, assist in the change control.
- Support and schedule operating systems installations and upgrades, as well as layered software packages, in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Assist with the configuration and maintenance of physical and logical components.
- Monitor, analyze, and tune the technical system to achieve optimal performance levels.
- Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical system configuration and database library of all supporting documentation.
- Develops business cases and gains basic understanding of project and operational budgeting.
- Schedules, installs, upgrades and maintains operating systems and software.
- Assists development team with modeling, physical design and application tuning.
- Assists in the recommendation of strategies for data center and infrastructure management from business continuity, disaster recovery, monitoring, storage, security.
- Routinely audits hardware and software to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines.
- Implements and use backup and restore techniques.
- Mentors less experienced administrators on an ongoing and often formal basis.
- Assist in the development of desktop standards for hardware and software.

- Perform troubleshooting and remediation for clients, software packages, installations, downloads, management packs, System Center applications, and Active Directory
- Perform patching, upgrades, migrations as required
Education:
- Four (4) year degree
Experience:
- 5+ yrs
Skills:
- MS Certification required.
- Microsoft Scripting with VB and Powershell
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories in own discipline, and broad knowledge of principles and concepts of other functions.
- Has developed extensive business knowledge and keeps current on industry trends.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert.
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory
- Experience with MS ILM/FIM is preferred
- Microsoft System Center 2007 administration experience
- Direct experience writing and modifying scripts related to System Center
- Experience with client and server Microsoft operating systems
- Creating, modifying, and deploying Windows scripts
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Microsoft operating systems and System Center applications
- Experience with Active Directory
- Operating System Deployment - packaging, testing, deployment
- Multi-tasking
- Written and Verbal Communication across different layers of management
- Windows Server 2003/2008, R2 knowledge
- Windows 7/XP operating system and WMI knowledge
- Experience with OSD and patch management deployments
