IT Service Manager recruitment

Global Production Services (GPS) is the team within Group Finance IT (GFIT) responsible for the IT service management of all the global and regional finance applications including the key Group General Ledger and Business Control. GPS supports over 100 applications that are used to deliver critical business financial processes including financial accounting, regulatory reporting and product control, for several thousand users across the Investment Bank, Wealth Management and Corporate Centre business divisions.

GPS combines a global management team based across four time zones providing service management, business relationship management, crisis management, service governance and the operational management of the outsourced support teams.

The opportunity is within GPS for an IT Service Manager to join the London team who are accountable for regional and global key Group Finance IT services. The role will initially focus on overseeing the operational aspects of the service delivery whilst growing key relationships with business stakeholders to review and improve the services.

The role will report into the EMEA Regional Manager and work closely with the Global Service Managers for each of the service area. As the successful candidate you will form part of the global team who jointly manage the regional and offshore operational teams who deliver the services day to day. This position requires a highly motivated individual with proven service management experience within an application services production environment, preferably within a global financial services institution.

As the successful candidate you will need to demonstrate a strong experience in building effective relationships both within the business and IT departments. You will need to gain an understanding of business and IT processes and be a strong communicator and influencer at all levels. As a senior point of escalation for crisis management, you will need to show good problem solving skills and the ability to think clearly under pressure.

As a service manager responsible for the end to end service, you will need to be able to think strategically and drive through improvements whilst meeting budget constraints and maintaining strict service levels. An appreciation and strong interest in technology is essential.

To be successful in the role, you will need to manage stakeholders across a range of functions including IT, Finance, Business management and the outsourcing vendors that provide services.
