The Senior IT Systems Analyst will be challenged to manage the application and data needs for a wide range of mission-critical Investment services, and will the go-to person for coordinating with business users and other technical teams to bring the best possible solutions forward. Responsibilities
• Implement solutions that enhance, streamline and automate the management of our systems utilizing business analysis and project management skills.
• Manage medium to large scale IT projects
• Support the implementation and maintenance across the spectrum of Investment Systems as needed.
• Coordinate work with onshore offshore developers.
• Develop technical and functional test plans and scripts to validate the successful design, development and implementation of system deliverables and obtain user sign-off.
• Provide support for Fixed Income and Commercial Real Estate Data Warehouses
• May serve as technical SME on business applications during projects or on ongoing basis.
• Develops, sells and implements comprehensive project plans (beginning with project team structure and resource assignment and ending with a control plan identifying both business process metrics and IT platform quality requirements).
• Identifies critical path decisions, makes recommendations and influences program managers and business process owners to maximize project payback.
• Manages daily activities, issue resolution and communication across project execution teams in order to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, as-requested by customer.
• Trouble-shooting and root cause analysis of application problems. Identify action items and make recommendations to address process and coding issues.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure support teams.
• Some travel may be required (10%) to Genworth's Richmond facilities.
Basic Qualifications Required
• BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Finance or related discipline.
• 5+years of experience in developing/supporting financial applications.
• 5+years Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management and/or Capital Markets Exposure.
• Experience working in a matrix and distributed environments, with ability to guide and direct small teams/projects.
• Experience translating functional business requirements to technical specifications (preferably in the finance, accounting, derivative or portfolio management sectors).
• Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office/Project and Business Objects reporting applications
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels of the organization
• Proven history of detail oriented execution and commitment to customer satisfaction
• Sense of urgency, judgment and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
Preferred Candidate Qualifications
• Experience managing people
• Experience and working knowledge of developing custom extensions to Fixed Income systems such as Blackrock or similar.
• Experience related to managing Informatica (ETL) processes handling large volume of data transformations over Oracle data warehouse/ data marts.
• Experience in developing /supporting Microsoft .Net or Java based applications.
• Working knowledge of Relational DBMS development using PL/SQL (Oracle) or T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server). ETL, Business Objects Universe Construction, SQL and XML experience is a plus.
• Experience in working closely with business users to gather requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Experience collaborating with IT infrastructure support teams.
• Understanding of fixed-income security and derivative analytics.
• Experience in developing and/or supporting Accounting, Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management and/or Capital Markets systems.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and business processes.
• Ability to drive clear, value-added results in a deadline driven environment
• Assures healthy team dynamics through communication, team contribution, and client focus
• CFA Candidate, MBA or MS in Computer Science
• PMP, Six Sigma, Lean or Agile certification
