Job Description:

 

American Beacon Advisors is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to join our team in providing technical support for desktop computers, applications and related technology.  Support includes troubleshooting, management, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established guidelines.  Employee will also assist in the maintenance and testing of network servers, and associated equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

-Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing operation of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software

-Responsible for reporting, tracking, and resolution of issues utilizing ticket tracking system and other support tools

-Provide proactive, timely input, suggestions, and feedback on process, software, and system issues

-Travel to provide on-site support for national and state meetings/conferences as required

-Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software

-Support all mobile computing devices (Blackberry, iPads, iPhones, etc.) as well as all cellular data services

-Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.

-Work with staff to purchase hardware and software

-Assess functional needs to determine specifications for purchases

-Order computer supplies

-Maintain telephone system

-Utilize and manage help desk ticketing system

-Provide documentation of related systems, software, and modifications

-Maintain and manage Audio/Visual equipment and provide setup and support

-Maintain asset and equipment tracking information

-Other duties as required

 

 

Required skills:

 

-Up to 2 years experience supporting Windows 7 desktop/laptop PCs

-Experience with mobile device computing platforms (Blackberry, iOS, etc.)

-Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs

-Experience installing software, patches, updates on desktop, laptop, and server systems

-Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, printing problems

-Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory Services

-Experience with Cisco Call Manager, Dell KBOX, and/or Mobile Device Management software is a plus

 

Desired skills:

 

-CompTia A+ and/or Network+ Certification

-Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)

-Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) – Windows 7
