SUMMARY
Designs, carries out and monitors cyber security interest for management initiatives and projects. Leads the planning, development and administration of cyber security procedures and training programs for classified or proprietary electronic data and information systems. Assures that training and internal practices, procedures, and policies comply with National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Department of Energy (DOE) orders and any other applicable policies pertaining to cyber security. Conducts audits, surveys, special studies, and prepares cyber security plans and procedures. Familiar with all cyber security requirements and policy. Interacts with NNSA, DOE Headquarters and other cyber security leadership. May assume duties of Manager when absent from the office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works under consultative direction toward predetermined goals and objectives
- Assignments are usually self-initiated
- Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results
- Provides technical support regarding cyber security program(s)
- Interprets DOE Orders, makes recommendations to management and/or implements cyber security policies and procedures to ensure compliance by all subcontractor and associates
- Interacts with DOE and other government agencies on matters related to cyber security program(s)
- Conducts, documents and communicates risk assessments used in the development of site specific threat analysis and cyber security countermeasures
- Coordinates the reporting of functional performance against initiatives, objectives, and milestones, assuring timely submittal and progress
- Develops and facilitates internal Cyber Security communications which may include the processing and distribution of information through communications services
- Thorough knowledge of DOE/NNSA Cyber Security policy and regulations
- Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ESH requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public and the environment
- Takes actions necessary to 'stop' work when an unsafe condition or action is identified, every associate has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a U.S. citizen (to obtain and maintain security clearance)
- Bachelor's degree in business, law enforcement education or training or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience appropriate for the assigned duties
- 1-2 years or experience in a related role
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for developing cyber security documentation and informing all levels of management about current classified and unclassified cyber security threats and risks.
- Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Able to utilize interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees
- Demonstrated project management and leadership skills
- Knowledge of cyber security computer applications and tools
- Working knowledge of NIST special publications (FIPS 199, 200, 800-53, 800-37) and the certification and accreditation process
