Regional IT Strategic Planning Development Manager - Insurance - Stakeholder Management; Technology Implementation; Relationship Management; Change Management Financial Services experience.
A strong manager required to lead development of regional IT strategic planning, business architecture and management of the project portfolio. This entails establishing collaborative business/ IT interactions to develop the IT strategy that aligns with business group objectives and country priorities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The role would cover the following key areas:
- Develop and nurture a trust-based relationship with the company’s Asia’s Strategy team in developing a strong Regional IT Strategy that is executable, aligns and supports Asia’s Regional Business Strategy. The Regional IT Strategy would contribute to the Regional Business Strategy, and diagnose shape business needs based on a deep understanding of the regional operating model and sources of competitive advantage.
- Support the management team (Regional office – Business Groups) and local country management teams in their IT Strategies to ensure quality of local country IT services and alignment to the Regional IT Strategy (and Business Group Roadmaps).
- Establish Business Architecture capability (incl. identifying innovative use of technology) for Asia. Business Architecture will ensure effective evolution of a long-term technology landscape and facilitate in re-engineering of processes (enabled by IT).
- Institutionalize Project Portfolio Management capability to ensure IT investments and initiatives are aligned with business strategy and priorities. Proactive management of a portfolio of IT projects (including, establishment of a project selection process with Business Groups and local countries).
- Work closely with Business Partner team to ensure project portfolio pipeline is executable. Provide support to regional community (incl. both regional and country-based resources), with business architecture capability.
- Recruit and develop subject matter expert (SME) leads within Business Architecture that are able to support different lines of business and various regional functions (e.g., Marketing, Distribution, Customer Service, Finance, Human Resources, etc.) becoming their partner on the value IT can deliver to their business.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in the Industry
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experienced stakeholder management skills - Business / IT relationships
- Strong leadership ability and previous IT team management experience
- Strong change management skills
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Experienced in handling regional diversity and compliance complexity
- Working experience in Asia countries, with understandings of the country characteristics, cultures and work style, is an advantage
- Willing to travel and work directly with country IT team
- University degree in Computer Science or related fields
- A minimum of fifteen years relevant experience, preferably consisting of about six years of technology implementation experience, three to four years of Business / IT Relationship management, and three to four years of experience as an IT Manager.
- Experience in Financial services is a must
- Able to develop a clear understanding of clients and customers technology needs. Understand the linkage between information technology and business value and can develop solid business cases for implementing business enablement projects.
- Conversant and knowledgeable on the technology innovations and possibilities, understanding how key technologies can help address business issues. In addition, has an understanding of the practical constraints of technology, and a knowledge surrounding proposed technology investments.
- Hands-on experience in project/ portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization and budgeting
- Should be challenging and process ability to convince and manage executive-level stakeholders
- Solid understanding of strategic development process (at regional and country-level)
