IT Strategic Services - Senior Project Manager

Kaiser Permanente is known for leadership in the use of health information technology and its groundbreaking electronic health record, Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect, which is the largest private-sector EHR in the world. KP HealthConnect enables all of Kaiser Permanente's more than 15,000 physicians to electronically access the medical records of all of Kaiser Permanente's 8.7 million members nationwide and serves as a model for other systems. Kaiser Permanente continues to lead the nation in the number of Stage 7 Awards from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMMS). The Stage 7 Award honors hospitals that have achieved the highest level of electronic health record implementation. In the last three years, Kaiser Permanente has received a total of 35 awards in recognition of its health information technology expertise. Kaiser Permanente is currently seeking to add members to the IT Strategic Services team. Working directly with the Chief Information Officer and other senior executives, IT Strategic Services is responsible for: -Developing, shaping and communicating Kaiser Permanente's Technology strategy, performance, opportunities and risks. -Supporting the Chief Information Officer to represent IT to other internal and external senior executive groups, such as business partners and key strategic stakeholders. This role has rigorous demands for accuracy and timeliness and is expected to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Essential Functions: - Create Analyses and Communication Instruments: Create clear, accurate analyses and presentations and communications materials to explain and advance the Kaiser Permanente and KP's Information Technology vision and strategy. -Support Executive Decision Making and Strategic Oversight: Serve as key point of contact for collecting, aggregating and analyzing KP Technology performance data and the interests, initiatives and issues of the CIO. -Execute Strategic Scenario Planning: Develop capabilities and tools and methods to support strategies to develop alternatives that support flexible long-term plans. -Develop the Kaiser Permanente Technology Strategy: participate in development of the IT strategy in alignment with business strategies. Support providing the basis for operational plans, budgets, and performance measures in IT. - You know Edward Tufte and enjoy creating visuals that resonate with his design philosophies. - You can assess large problems and provide clear strategic context and solutions. - You have people come to you with questions on how to do things in Excel and PowerPoint. - You are not afraid of ambiguity and are a self-starter. - You are excited not bored when the topic of health care reform comes up. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree (a major in the health sciences or business is preferred). - Have or are about to receive a master'sin Business Administration. - Minimum of 2 years of work experience, preferably at a major management consulting firm. - Familiarity with current issues facing the health care industry including governmental programs, legislation and regulations. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Business Administration. - Consulting experience in a management consulting firm.
