OVERVIEW:

As a Support Engineer, you will have curiosity, a problem-solving approach, enthusiasm, willingness to learn new ways of doing things, enjoy a challenging work environment, and be passionate about new and emerging software / hardware technologies.

Customer Service and Professionalism:

All work is email-driven, solid business email communication skills are mandatory. Provides timely and concise summary updates with proper grammar and professional business etiquette.

Includes all troubleshooting steps taken to resolve issues (for ticketing system). Must be able to handle upset customers. Requires patience and ability to understand customer needs and follow up until the request / problem is resolved

Independence:

Comfortable making decisions and owning requests / issues with little supervision. Must be able to handle competing priorities, delegating work to teammates as needed.

Documentation:

Proficient in documenting processes and procedures for routine tasks. Technical writing skills required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

* PC client hardware: experience with troubleshooting PC hardware to the component level required
* Troubleshooting CPU, motherboard, hard drive, Power Supply, add-on adapters
* Installation of new components (new video cards, network adapters, etc.)
* Networking: Basic level understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN
* Understand the differences: Router vs Hub vs Switch
* OS: Familiarity with Windows 7, Windows installation
* Driver installation
* Very basic familiarity with cmd prompt tasks (ipconfig, net use, etc.)
