IT Support Manager, Bristol, £45,000
This is an exciting and unusual position available within a fast-moving business in Bristol. The role would require you to manage the IT and desk top queries from the US.
Consequently, your standard hours would be 13.30 - 22.30 hrs Monday to Friday with the odd time of being on call (rotationally). You could also travel to the states up to 4 times per year and you would ideally be a driver.
Technical skills required include:
- Degree level in appropriate field.
- Expert level supporting MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook.MS Project.
- Experienced in a high demand environment
- Able to demonstrate a wide ranging experience with multiple OS's(Windows, Linux, Unix) infrastructure, database, application and desktop support.
- Background experience with open source projects and technologies
- Attention to detail. Able to demonstrate project planning and delivery skills.
- Experience supporting a CRM system in a sales environment - ideally SugarCRM.
- Must be a team player. Able to communicate effectively at all levels and has experience supporting senior business executives.
- Previous experience with other application CRMs / Financial systems such as SugarCRM, Salesforce.com, SAP, Sun5, MS Dynamics
- Experience with Juniper and Cisco networking a benefit.
- Experience of a wide range of scripting tools and other management and data transformation techniques.
- Understanding of web based PHP, XML, DHTML, ASP, ASP.net, Perl and other data presentation technologies
- Experience of application implementation, UAT and roll-outs
- Knowledge of Active Directory, and Serve based operating systems.
- End user desktop support experience.
- Experience with various reporting platforms such as MS reporting services, Crystal Reports,
- Thorough knowledge of MS Access, MS SQL, MySQL and other core industry standard data bases
- Knowledge of Oracle a benefit
- Working knowledge of active directory
- Experience of MS Sharepoint a benefit
- Knowledge of Exchange 2000/2003/ 2007/ 2010
- Competent understanding of (TCP/IP) DNS, DNS, DHCP, SANS and Clustering.
- Good working knowledge core windows infrastructure, MPLS, VPNs, LANs and WANs.
The role requires you to provide third line support to a range of company stakeholders and requires someone who is strong in all aspects of support from the front end desktop applications through to network administration, diagnostics, security / VPN's, the windows network platform and CRM database back end.
You ought to demonstrate meticulous planning and attention to detail to provide an expert and consistent level of support to the users. This role also requires a high level of technical ability, flexibility, superior communication skills, dedication and an ability to take ownership for delivering the smooth running of business systems and services in the US.
