IT Support Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES
Mainly responsible for the smooth running of computer systems in co-ordination with HO and ensuring users get the maximum benefits from them. Individual tasks vary depending on the growth of the organization and considering the expansion plans of the branches, including but not limited to:
Infrastructure Management
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
- Support the systems in the LAN infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, desktop systems and file servers and IP Telephone
- Monitors and support servers, windows Active Directory, Physical access and CCTV systems
- Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
- Implement compliance and security policies and procedures
- Maintain a disaster recovery plan for the branch locations in coordination with HO
Support Maintain Existing Operational Systems and End Users
- Perform Backups, Systems recovery in case of corruption
- Offsite storage of daily servers backup in a secured environment
- Apply software and security patches
- Maintain and support e-mailing solution and ensure mobile device management
- Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical and applications problems
- Supporting the roll-out of new applications
- End User Support - Providing desktop as well as first line support for all applications
Asset Management
- Hardware: Ensure Barcoding and maintain a registry of Part No, Model, Specs, Warranty, custodian etc.
- Software: Ensure ADS is complied with licensing requirements and also security policies
- Manuals / Books / CD's /Disks
- Offsite storage of operating systems and application CD's
Other Tasks
- Maintain a virus free and secured network by ensuring that all machines are installed and updated with Antivirus software and patterns
- Monitor servers and system access violations
- Monitor servers / network performance
- Testing and evaluating new technology
- Adhere to Information Security Policies and procedures as communicated by Information Security Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- BSc IT or Engineering.
- IT experience in a Banking/Finance environment
- 5 years of experience in infrastructure support and management.
- Additional Certifications: Microsoft Certifications, Cisco Certifications, etc.
- Experience in Trading Applications and Platforms is an added advantage.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in handling IT Infrastructure, system installation and design
- Proven expertise in data networking, network administration, troubleshooting and overall operations support.
- Deep knowledge, and experience, supporting client-facing SLA's and tiered support methodologies
- Extensive experience in a help-desk environment, fluid in the use of help desk tools, prioritization of support calls, effective documentation of how a call was answered/remediated, etc.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers and associated servers, and other related equipment, devices, and systems, including patches and fixes for applications and operating systems
- Knowledge of Systems hardware (e.g., firewalls, routers, switches, uninterruptible power supplies, miscellaneous servers, and disk and tape libraries)
- Specific knowledge of operating system administration (windows, Linux etc.) with the ability to configure desktop systems
- Familiarity with large-scale storage backup, disaster recovery, business resumption and load-balancing techniques
- Familiarity with data storage technologies (e.g. NAS, SAN, Clustered, Tape)
- Knowledge of local and networked file systems (e.g. NFS, DFS, NTFS)
- Familiarity with systems tools and protocols (e.g. SNMP, Managed Engine, Nagios etc.)
- Familiarity with security protocols and practices
- Skills to accept and adapt to different challenges and requirements of the work and contribute in an innovative manner.
