The Role
Bloomberg's IT department is looking for an intelligent, motivated and hard working candidate to join the team. Based out of Singapore you will be working in the Asia Pacific IT team as part of the global Information Systems group to provide support to our internal customers. You will be supporting the entire organization which includes departments such as News, Multimedia, Global Data, Sales and Financial Products as well as working closely with the Network and other Information Systems Teams on the global level.

Responsibilities of this role include providing primary and face to face technical support for our employees in offices within the South East Asia Region which includes Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Singapore as well as remote and telephone support for employees in other parts of Asia Pacific. As part of the global team, you will also be required to support employees in the Americas and Europe during your designated work hours.

You will be required to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair computer system hardware and peripherals as well as install, document and perform upgrades on software systems. Besides assisting in desk top support, you will also be required to play a key role in the back office (Comms Room) supporting the existing systems and taking ownership of new projects and installations.

You will be exposed to a variety of other opportunities such as providing audio visual support during internal client events, as well as providing technical solutions on mobile devices. You will be assigned projects and given opportunities to work closely on Office Expansions and Relocations to Hardware role outs and regional software upgrades.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
-Strong interest in Information Technology
-Organized and flexible approach to challenging situations and problem solving
-Strong communication, coordination and customer service skills
-Possess project management skill sets with proven track record in achieving milestones and meeting deadlines
-Knowledge of budgeting and financial tracking
-Prior experience with Microsoft OS and applications would be preferred
-Knowledge of Backup Systems, Proxies, Firewalls and Antivirus
-Good knowledge in Networks such as Cisco switch/router data voice products
-Experience with Telephone systems specifically IP. Avaya and Nortel
-Blackberry / BES, Apple iOS and Android device configuration and usage experience
-Communications/Server room experience, cable patching and racking of equipment
-Understanding of Server and Wireless technology would be preferred
-Knowledge of Tandberg video conferencing systems
-Prior experience in vendor management would be an advantage
-Have a good level of understanding of the technical management of audio visual equipment, such as paging, media distribution etc.

MCSE, CCNA, PRINCE2, PMP or similar qualifications would be of benefit.
Fluency in English and one of the Asian languages is an advantage (e.g. Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese). As part of the regional team, your main language medium would be English.
