IT Support Specialist recruitment
Our client is a leading global investment management firm dealing across a range of investment including private equity, credit, liquid markets and traditional fixed income on behalf of their clients worldwide.
Job Description:
The IT Support Specialist serves as the “first and second level of support” for all computer and application issues generated by their users. These are solutions-focused positions requiring personable individuals with strong communications and customer satisfaction orientation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Helpdesk support for various computer, printer and network related issues
- Provide telephone and remote desktop support for Windows 7/XP workstations and laptops
- Enter and distribute trouble tickets in Helpdesk database
- Enter and maintain hardware asset information in Asset Management database
- Responsible for the research and resolution of user related problems
- Serve as liaison between various groups within the department and company to help in solving problems
- Update and maintain software documentation and standard operating procedures
- Light account and security access management
Job Requirements:
Technical Skills
- 1-3 years experience in MS Office products
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Solid technical knowledge of MS Office products, Windows 7/XP
- Solid understanding of PC/LAN system, working knowledge of Windows applications and a technical aptitude in order to more effectively handle customer inquiries
- Basic understanding of MS Active Directory accounts and security model
- Basic understanding of remote access systems including Blackberry Enterprise server and Citrix Presentation server
- Basic understanding and troubleshooting skills for TCP/IP based networking systems
Non-Technical Aptitudes
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills in order to establish strong relationships to communicate effectively and deal with all types of customers
- Excellent sense of business urgency for troubleshooting and escalating system issues.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain performance and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment and during heavy phone volumes in order to handle all customer calls with the same high quality standards
- High attention to detail in order to prevent errors when researching and resolving problems
- Willingness to be flexible with work schedule and work the hours necessary to provide adequate phone coverage
