IT Support Technician 1st/2nd Line, Derby £15/£20k

 

My client is looking for a keen, enthusiastic person with good personal and communication skills and a solid technical background, to work as a Technical Hands-On IT Support Technician.

The Support Technician will be a person who can handle a pressured work load, be flexible in their approach, have a positive attitude and be motivated. This is an ideal role for a sharp individual who wants to be part of a growing organisation.

 

At a minimum you will be educated to degree level with either a MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certification with a Full UK driving licence.

 

Desirable technical skills:

 

·       Maintain and Support:

o    Microsoft Windows XP

o    Microsoft Windows 7

o    Microsoft Windows Servers 2003 2008

o    Microsoft Exchange 2003 2010 – (OWA)

o    Microsoft SQL Server 2005 2008

·       Troubleshoot Network, PC, Laptop, Printer or Phone issues

·       Thorough understanding of Active Directory in terms of User and Desktop Management. 

·       Knowledge and good understanding of remote connectivity solutions such as RDP

·       Someone who keeps at least reasonably up to date with what is happening in the IT world.

·       Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.

·       A team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.

·       Someone with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.

·       Innovative problem-solver who can generate workable solutions and resolve complaints.

 

Role Duties include:

 

·       Prepared to travel as necessary visiting remote sites.

·       To assist in the procurement of hardware and software ensuring we get the most competitive price.

·       Produce a monthly helpdesk report outlining trends and statistics

·       Report to the IT Support Manager
