Akibia is seeking a self-motivated, dedicated individual to fill an on-site, IT Support Technician position at a major Global Client located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. In this role, the successful candidate will perform the following activities within a fast-paced Data Center environment consisting of IBM, Cisco, NetApp, Fujitsu, Sun, and Dell equipment:

General Responsibilities

Coordinate asset management activities in support of hardware receipt and logistics

Rack hardware according to system enrollment

Attach cabling according to documented design

Perform Cabling including but not limited to Data, Console, SAN, and Power

Verify system enrollment information to IP Plan and capacity is available

Execute Copper and Fiber continuity tests with Fluke cable tester

Update internal patch matrix to track all cables in the Data Center

 

Incident Response

Join P1 Conference call when Global Service Desk initiates the request

Utilize Service Now ticketing system to create, update and close Incidents Tasks, Problems and Changes

 

Hardware Break/Fix

Manage tickets with hardware vendors for all RMAs

Vendor Coordination (IBM, NetApp, Fujitsu, Cisco, Akibia) for onsite access

Asset Management

Manage asset information in Data Center Manager (internal application)

Perform physical Data Center Audits to update DCM

 

Ticket Management

Manage Service-Now ticket queue for all Incidents/Requests/Tasks/Change for Service

Meet business SLAs on all Incidents/Requests for Service

Able to lift 50+ lbs onto a server lift.
