ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

 

The Washington DC office of Boies, Schiller Flexner LLP is currently seeking an experienced Systems Analyst.

 

SUMMARY: The Systems Analyst, reporting to the local IT Manager and the Director of Information Technology, is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support and developing and delivering computer, phone, and application to computer users throughout the DC office, as well as visitors and Firm clients.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

·         Perform day-to-daymonitoring of all network components, Windows NT, Windows 2003 - 2008, servers and Microsoft Exchange 2007 administration, including creating/maintaining end user accounts and groups in Active Directory, backup using Backup Exec, disk usage, network performance, system connection and traffic status; continuously fine-tune and balance system performance parameters.

 

·         Responsible for troubleshooting all hardware issues, including desktop, laptop, servers and printer issues.

 

·         Provide software/hardware training as needed.

 

·         Install/Configure/troubleshoot Citrix client issues.

 

·          Provide support for firm-wide Elite clients.

 

·         Record all relevant calls in the BSF Help Desk Tracking system.

 

·         Analyze business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommend technical solutions.

 

·         Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.

 

·         Ensure users are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.

 

·         Stay abreast of trends and technologies advances and recommend such to the Director of Information Technology.  

 

·         Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

 

·         Communicate effectively with attorneys, administration, staff, vendors, and agencies regarding planning, implementation, use and support of technology resources.

 

·         Assist with firm-wide IT projects as requested.

Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to listen effectively and the ability to present oneself in a calm, professional manner under pressures of time and schedule.

 

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or related experience and a minimum five (5) years experience within Information Technology.   Professional certification a plus.

 

In-depth technical background and abilities including experience and expertise in the following technologies/products: Microsoft products, Networking, and Local and Wide Area.  Working knowledge with financial systems such as Elite Enterprise and FRX is preferred.

 

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

a)       Regular Hours Requirement

Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week as the Firm determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

b)       Weekend and Holiday Requirement

Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the Firm determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

c)       Travel Requirement

Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the Firm determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
