The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design and support of software or hardware solutions that meet the business needs of the customer. The primary area of focus will be Engineering Design applications and Infrastructure, preferably with a strong background with client devices, storage, networks and servers. The individual will lead technical teams following a SDLC methodology and perform requirements analysis, specification development, system design and testing associated with implementation and support of applications. The primary focus of the application technology is in the area of networks, computer hardware, servers, storage, software interconnection, and interfaces, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Primary Duties:
•Design and develop technical system engineering solution for new or existing IT related systems, defining key functional and technical capabilities. Assess design and technology maturity constraints of the system in conjunction with customer needs. Review and approve design of subsystems and integration between components for total system, as well as impacts to other systems. Approve all system interfaces. Assist in system implementation approach and operational concepts as necessary.
•Provide detailed technical guidance as needed.
•Provide all required Systems Engineer deliverables (such as, writing requirements and documenting architecture).
•Provide input into project planning activities.
•Provide expertise for feasibility studies and prototyping.
•Propose new technologies that may benefit the corporation, recommending projects to evaluate their value and potentially lead to new standards.
•Interact with System Architects (SyA) and Enterprise Architects (EAs) as required.
•Proactively review system development directions, overall systems relationships and functions, and shape long term solutions.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
•14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Demonstrated proactive IT leadership
•Demonstrated facilitation skills and IT systems design experience
•Hands-on experience in the administration and maintenance in TCP/IP protocol, storage, network and server virtualization technologies, UNIX/LINUX/WIN, and Active Directory necessary, with ability to quickly understand, assess, and conceptualize uses and interactions between technical products.
•Previous implementation experience with .NET, Java, Web 2.0 technologies, mobile technologies, collaboration technologies (Sharepoint/Livelink), unified communication products is a plus.
•The ability to organize and manage large network centric projects.
•Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio required.
•Industry applicable certifications (such as, MCSE, CCIE CCNA, CISSO) is a plus.
•Previous implementation experience using the CMMI IEPG processes a plus.
