IT Systems Engineer (Virtualization) Job in Belleville 62220, Illinois Us
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will provide virtualization expertise with focus on VMware ESXi 4.1 to the DoD client Active Directory and Exchange migrations. The ideal candidate will have VMware virtualization installation and configuration experience and knowledge of either storage area networks or Windows 2003/2008 systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in VMware virtualization technologies
- Ability to complete installation and configuration on a range of different hardware platforms without supervision
- Capable to troubleshoot virtualization issues as applicable
- Work within a team environment to complete project objectives
- Ability to design and coordinate virtualization installations with industry vendors and remote site technicians
- Must have active secret clearance or ability to obtain secret clearance
- Must have Security Plus certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- VMware Certified Professional certification a plus
- Prior DoD experience a plus
- Experience in an operational storage area network environment or SAN certifications a plus
- Experience with virtualization of Windows environments
- Experience working with industry leading vendor server and blade technologies
- Experience with configuration of networking within a virtual environment
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This job requires working at our DoD client site or approximately 50% travel to other DoD client site locations as required.
