The Corporate Information Services Organization serves both the Corporate function and all GE businesses.

Role Summary/Purpose
The IT Team Leader - InterCompany Applications will lead various projects in support of productivity, growth and compliance initiatives for the Internal Billing System suite of applications. The Team Leader will work closely with functional partners to drive IT strategies around IBS, lead and mentor GE IT resources, as well as own individual projects to enhance applications in support of business initiatives. Career mentorship will be provided as well as exposure to upper management.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead a global team of GE IT resources and offshore GDC resources in support of a suite of applications used by all of GE for intercompany billing
  • Partner with functional team to establish and execute on technical strategies for upcoming business initiatives
  • Partner with functional and IT team to establish a vision of the future for the intercompany billing application suite
  • Take on individual projects within the application suite, in alignment with process excellence and simplification imperatives, focusing on cost out opportunities
  • Own budget and SII responsibilities for support and project cost centers
  • Engage with GBS functional team and GE users on operational issues as they occur
  • Ensure annual compliance requirements are completed in a timely fashion

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related discipline (or a minimum 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Information Technology leader or large Program Management role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing large scale, business critical development projects and globally deployed applications
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience planning and executing IT projects
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing external contractors both on and/or offshore

    Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with internal billing and/or other financial system processes
  • Oracle/SQL/DB2 database experience
  • JAVA/PHP application design/development experience
  • Knowledge of TSO, CICS, COBOL
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading and developing GE employees
  • Excellent written verbal communications skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts
  • Strong and broad technical skills, with a capacity to quickly understand new technologies and analyze complex systems
  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources; builds strong customer relationships and partner with customers to help shape their future initiatives
  • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage project timelines, resources and competing priorities
  • Ability to be a self-starter and bring projects to closure without micromanagement
  • Basic Accounting/Finance knowledge
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of organization
  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint
  • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways
