Job Description:

Over three years of experience in a hardware and software support capacity in a manufacturing and user oriented environment. Hardware experience must include Windows/DOS systems, Thermal Transfer Printers, Laser Printers, scanners, other peripherals, and terminals/equipment connected to centralized host systems.Understanding of the maintenance and control of parts and repair inventory systems, problem system tracking, and troubleshooting methodologies required.Diagnose and Troubleshoot hardware/software faults and solve technical and applications problems.

Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- knowledge of IT applications and infrastructure elements.
- problem analysis and resolution skills.
- installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
- monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
- troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults;
- replacing parts as required;
- providing support, including procedural documentation;
- following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
- supporting the roll-out of new applications;
- setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
- responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
- working continuously on a task until completion
- prioritising and managing many open cases at one time;
- rapidly establishing a good working relationship with users and other departments
- testing and evaluating new technology;
- ability to show initiative to take on assignments of a more advanced nature.
