Market Operations and Technology (MOT) provides technology and market operations to Macquarie's businesses.
The Technology Division is responsible for the management of Macquarie's technology infrastructure, the support and development of existing business systems and the delivery and deployment of new systems, technologies and services. It comprises business aligned teams which provide dedicated and specialist services to businesses as well as central teams which provide shared services, such as infrastructure, to multiple businesses.
Technology activities include:
- Managing Macquarie's technology infrastructure
- Supporting, maintaining and enhancing existing business systems
- Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies and services
- Ensures all technical hardware and software is provided to all users
- Operates the ITG Service Desk which provides IT support to all users
The Market Operations Division (MOD) IT team has an opportunity for a technical analyst to join the team in New York. In this role you will be a trusted technology partner for NY businesses, own project delivery from beginning to end, and be across multiple businesses in the capital markets space.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with middle office, compliance officers, and settlements staff to document new system functionality and improve existing system functionality.
- Being a subject matter expert for post trade business processes in the US markets and their associated technology. Act as a trusted advisor to internal clients on technology best practice.
- Local delivery. Manage projects with international technology teams to deliver solutions based on business requirements and technical analysis.
- Facilitating business acceptance of completed functionality. Develop test cases, test and validate new functionality, and prepare the systems for user acceptance
- Performing day-to-day technology tasks for stakeholders as required. This will include Excel-based data analysis, shell/perl scripting, etc.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A diplomatic style with the ability to influence and direct where necessary.
- At least 3-5 years of technical background such as using and deploying database technologies, programming or technical architecture design.
- The ability to perform basic SQL and Unix commands.
- The ability to work with international teams spanning multiple time zones.
- 4-year Bachelor's Degree in computer science or similar field.
