The Quality Control Lab Technician uses wet chemical and instrumental methods to analyze samples of products and raw materials. The lab tech interprets the results and for many products, specifies adjustments which optimize product conformance to specifications. The lab technician also will analyze SPC and SQC data and make recommendations for process improvement. In support of our ISO 9000 program, the lab tech performs instrument and solution calibrations and maintains calibration and product and raw material quality records. The lab tech participates in the manufacturing process, and makes timely adjustment orders and entries of quality data into SAP, ensuring minimal interruption in processing flow. The lab tech is a member of a team that works rotating schedules the cover the plant 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, including most holidays. The lab tech is knowledgeable about properties and hazards of the chemicals, products, and test methods they perform and keeps the lab clean and orderly to maximize safety. The lab tech is trained in first aid and provides care if an employee is injured.
