IT Telecom Purchasing Specialist

SUMMARY OF POSITION : The Indirect Sourcing Category Specialist ? will be responsible for assisting the management of global technology spend of approximately $300 million annually. Responsible for strategic sourcing activities, managing supply base risk, and supporting supplier management functions for Indirect Spend. Act as a key business and functional representative supporting Infrastructure, Applications and Telecom areas of IS and Shared Services while developing Strategic Sourcing skills at the direction of the Director of Sourcing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : · Analyze cross-divisional spend and identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership for all GBU?s and center-led projects/activities. · Key areas for involvement (including, but not limited to): Professional services within IS, Shared Services and Mansfield Facilities (High) SaaS, ERP, and business application software (High) E-commerce projects specific to website consolidation for Intranet and Internet activities (High) Lead Management, CRM and other customer-facing software tools (High) o Infrastructure hardware/software contracts for servers, workstations, network equipment, and security.(High) o Outsourcing agreements for Infrastructure and Application services (Medium) o Professional (e.g. Consulting) services for Infrastructure and Application projects (High) o Wireless communications (Low) · Develop and apply skills in the contracting process and lead coordination with Legal to ensure commercial relationships are appropriately documented. · Champion use of eSourcing and Spend Visibility tools within areas of responsibility. · Manage relationships with IS senior management and the suppliers. · Manage the supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, contract development, implementation, compliance, and ongoing supply base management process as it pertains to the IS organization. · Be open to new opportunities and participate in various training program that addresses individual areas of improvement. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS : · Professional Services report-out · Cost Savings reporting · Management reports, as required. · Participate in annual Strategic Sourcing planning process (e.g. Project Intake) · Closely work with other Sourcing colleagues in collaborative team projects MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : · Bachelor?s Degree required; Graduate Degree in Business (Preferred) · Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM, CPIM) or equivalent experience in IS industry (e.g. ITIL) · Experience in Information Technology Sourcing · Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant savings year over year · Strong negotiation and presentation skills · Strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing process · Strong project management skills · Exhibits leadership and teamwork skills · Must be able to work across all functions and levels of an organization PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS (Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria) · A minimum of a 4-year undergraduate college degree required in Business, Finance, and/or Technical field · Minimum 1-3 Years experience · Broad business acumen to include IS - Total Cost of Ownership decisions in progressive companies where best in class practices are employed · Strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities · Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a complex organization COMPETENCIES : · Exceptional communication skills, both orally and written · Superior negotiating skills · Some knowledge of strategic sourcing process and e-sourcing tools (Very Important) · Experience with Ariba Software System · Proven project management skills · Demonstrable process implementation ability · Problem solving and decision making talent · Outstanding quantitative skills
