IT Trading and Infrastructure Support Specialist recruitment
Purpose of The job
To support the first and second line Helpdesk functions within the company locally and its’ International offices.
Environment of the job
The role is multi dimensional, involving providing IT Infrastructure escalations globally, troubleshooting, monitoring both business critical applications and desktop hardware. The role also involves handling Network issues, upgrades and remote support for the global business.
Required skills/experience include: Windows XP and Office 2007, Supporting Citrix (Remote Access Globally), Active Directory, Move and Change (MAC), Desktop/Helpdesk Hardware, Exchange support outlook 2007, TCP/IP (networking). SQL Knowledge: the ability to write and execute basic SQL queries and execute via report writer. PhP Development: A knowledge of creating Php scripts with the WAMP server environment, creating basic URL applications to enhance the existing internal applications.
Any exposure to Market Data applications e.g. Reuters/Bloomberg or Network issues will also important due to the multi dimensional levels of support required. The team is responsible for 24/7 support, with a shift rota in place allowing the team to provide global support to the business.
Any experience supporting a trade floor environment is beneficial; meanwhile any exposure to IT support within commodities would also be preferred. The successful candidate should be task orientated with attention to detail and possess excellent communication skills as well as technical knowledge in order to effectively provide solutions for business critical activities.
- Support the Brokers and business personnel through direct desk side engagement with the customer or remote support
- Maintenance of voice and IT Hardware: specifically Dealer boards, Voice Recorders, Telephones, Mobile phones, printers, scanners , Fax machines and PC’s
- Creating and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, pro-actively identifying opportunities for service improvements and internal efficiencies. Regularly delivering efficiency gains and added-value service improvements.
- Day to day consultation with key stakeholders ranging from Desk Assistants through to Group General Managers.
- Liaison with other IT Technology silos and third party suppliers.
- Managing small and large project implementations and general business moves and changes.
- Identify potential technology improvements where possible and improvements in how technology can be used better to support the business.
- Participating in testing new applications and hardware as required.
- Communicating effectively with key business users regarding day-to-day incident support.
- Ensuring that global ITO support standards are adhered to, e.g. documentation management, technical standards. Ensure that Desktop Support documentation is owned, regularly maintained and used when required.
Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar environment.
