IT Trading Support Analyst recruitment
This is a Level 2 support role, supporting online trading platforms and related company applications (for front to back processing, STP). You will be a point of contact to the client services team based in London to troubleshoot technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Ensure maximum uptime and availability of eCommerce trading applications
- System monitoring through the use of real time monitoring tools.
- Highlight and escalate reoccurring issues to ensure root cause of problem is investigated and resolved.
- Review and implement improvements to the support process and monitoring where appropriate.
- Ensure operational documentation is kept up to date as changes take place.
- Plan, execute and review maintenance tasks between IT and development teams.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.
- In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the company, as well as maintaining constructive relationships
- Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
Requirements
- Strong scripting in Unix Shell, PL/SQL, some Perl.
- An understanding of Client Server architecture and how applications integrate
- An understanding of applications developed in Java / .Net
- Strong Real-time monitoring and troubleshooting skills
- automation experience
- An understanding of financial products
- Connectivity knowledge (i.e. FIX) is a plus
- ITIL principles
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Experience of Java or .Net applications
- Experience of SQL script writing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003
- Knowledge of Red Hat Linux
- Experience of working within financial industry
- Experience of working with market data
