Our client is the leading value added distributor into the European colour management and digital imaging channels. They now seek an IT Web Support Engineer to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, UNIX, VMware and protocol skills to join a growing company and to develop your skills while demonstrating your ability to maximise the use of existing and new systems and technology.
As an IT Web Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day reliability of our client's infrastructure which is a mixture of Windows and Mac clients with Windows and UNIX servers.
You will maintain, improve and document the existing IT systems, proposing, designing and implementing new systems to support growth and future needs.
Ensuring our client's IT resources are secure and protected with the latest upgrades and security software, you will provide an additional resource for the maintenance and development of internal and customer-facing websites.
Managing the full needs of running a Windows domain, including printers and network devices, you will offer 1st and 2nd line support to staff and remote users. You'll additionally manage the networking infrastructure including VPN access for remote and roaming users as well as the VMware and SAN systems.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have experience of the following:
- Windows OS, including 2003 or 2008 Server, XP and Windows 7
- Macintosh OS, including Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion
- Linux and/or UNIX administration, Redhat or similar
- MS Active Directory
- DNS, DHSP, VLAN, WAN/LAN, VPN and/or SSH
- Printer configuration on both Windows and Macs
- Managing and/or configuring routers, firewalls and wireless connections
- VMware Virtual Infrastructure ESX Server
- PHP, MySQL and/or Apache
As an IT Web Support Engineer, you must have superb communication and interpersonal skills. Polite and courteous at all times, you will maintain professional standards in all aspects of your work including time keeping and your dress code.
Experience of any of the following would be beneficial to your application: Backup Exec, Time Machine, 2X application server, Unix Cron, UNIX, Linux (ksh/bash) and Dos scripting.
