IT Wintel Support

IT Wintel support - 2nd/3rd line support of core systems and infrastructure.

· Support of the IT Wintel Infrastructure including escalation of technical issues, core systems, out of hours support, scheduling of key maintenance tasks, documentation and training.
· Interfaces - Infrastructure support teams, Application Support Development, internal client facing departments, IT Management, 3rd Party vendors.
· Support and scheduling of MS Patching
· Manage and implement user request workload through Helpdesk Remedy call based system.
· Follow up of key issues outside of normal operating criteria.
· Generation and implementation of changes as required
· Disaster Recovery implementation (and co-ordination where needed) and regular testing in collaboration with Business Continuity Management team.
· Proactive monitoring of the EMEA Wintel server estate
· Comply with SLA's/OLA's around incident/change and problem management

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

General:
· Maintain a current level of understanding of all systems within the scope of the team's responsibilities.
· Maintain understanding of all business lines critical systems and their associated interfaces.
· Ensure key controls are followed and reported to senior management as appropriate.
· Ensure all procedures are created to a defined standard, maintained and fit for purpose.
· Be prepared to work out of normal business hours and at weekends as required.
· Provide advice on aspects of IT strategy based upon areas of expertise.
· Maintain and deliver key reporting requirements within defined time scales.
· Proactive monitoring of O/S and hardware/software revisions to ensure effective Vendor support.
· Proactive identification of risks and timely escalation to IT management.
· Analytical reviews of changes, updates problems in relation to IT infrastructure or process.
· Perform impact analysis on change records raised across IT department.
· Maintain compliance to recognised audit requirements including SOX and FSA.
· Be aware of ITIL methodology and best practice processes.
· Implement effective and workable strategy to ensure continuance during absence.
· Maintain technical expertise and knowledge of new and upcoming technologies required to enhance the team.
· Any other duties as required.

3.Windows Server 2008 Heritage Operating Systems
4.Windows Supporting Services (DNS,DHCP,TCPIP,AD,GPO)
5.File Permissions Standards
6.HP Hardware ML, DL, BL Ranges
7.ITIL Knowledge (Foundation)Desirable skills:
At least two of the following:
8.Windows Clustering
9.Windows Scripting (Batch, VB, Powershell)
10.Deployment Mechanisms (Altiris, SCCM, BladeLogic)
11.SCOM
