Job Summary
Working as a member of the development team, the Programmer Analyst will perform all aspects of the software development lifecycle in support of a web based Business Intelligence application. The highly motivated individual will have clear accountability for delivering IT projects on time for the assigned business area and will collaborate directly with internal and external personnel to develop and enhance system modules. The position will be responsible for managing multiple software products and applying patches and upgrades as required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates project plans for small to intermediate projects, performing the work defined by the project plan, monitoring progress on all assigned projects, and communicating project process and/or problems to manager on a timely basis
- Provides consulting services and technical support to many stakeholders.
- Stays abreast of relevant technologies and business processes and provides input to the development and implementation of a global IM strategy
- Minimizes application development requests by appropriately using data and tools to meet client needs
- Demonstrates strong skills in communicating technical ideas to non-technical clients as well as peers in IT
- Creates and distributes various reports to clients and management using the test system, spreadsheets, and database and graphics applications
- Maintains relevant items in data dictionary and user documentation
- Responsible for on-call support of assigned systems.

- Writes technical reports and manuals, demonstrates skills in communicating technical ideas to non-technical clients as well as IT peers
- Stays abreast of relevant technologies and business processes

- Ability to work within a team-oriented environment, including the flexibility to adjust hours for proper departmental coverage (e.g., vacations, illness, etc.)
- Possess two or more major skill sets in areas such as Client/Server, Web and applications development in a Windows environment
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field)
- 2+ years of professional experience in applications/systems development
- Substantial experience in designated applications or systems as required by specific role
- Strong skills in server side PHP, Java and Tomcat
- Proficiency in object orientation, design patterns and frameworks
- Programming experience in HTML, JavaScript, PHP, AJAX, CSS, XML, XSD, SQL Server, MySql, Basic Unix.
- WebFOCUS development experience a plus
- Drupal or other content authoring tools experience a plus
