I am currently working with a world-renowned global investment bank who are now deploying one of the most exciting projects for their entire front to back *greenfield* equity trading IT platform that will last for the next 2-3 years. The project is extremely big driven by the need to calibrate the system for STP requirements to cut down overheads and to give ease to business users of over 2500 people within the business.
It is currently a Core Java based application using IBM websphere server as its main development technologies. They require highly skilled Java developers who understands quality- code development techniques re-enforced with high-performance techniques such as polymorphism, multi-threading and inheritance which are key concepts to be successful in this job.
The system covers the main bulk of trade captures performed by the front office program trading team, single-stock, algo (portware team), and analytics which is linked by the FIX connectivity platforms providing STP through to backoffice settlements.
The successful developer will be rewarded generously and more importantly endless opportunities to move closer to the traders, structurers and salespeople and more importantly great expsore to global equity systems covering NY, London, Amsterdam, Singapore, Australia, Tokyo, Korea etc.
This will be a global next generation Equities Management system which will have sufficient work for the next 2-3 years
The essential skillsets is
7+ years of core Java DEVELOPMENT experience
5+ years of Websphere DEVELOPMENT expereince
2+ years of expereince in Maven, Eclipse, Spring, and Hudson/jenkins
3+ years working in Banking/Financial services environemnt with an aptitude for a fast-pace demanding and stressful environment.
Strong communications in English
Team-player to co-ordinate projects with global teams
Ability to communicate effectively with business users and be highly presentable
