Japan FID, Client Onboarding

Position Description

This is a role within Fixed Income Division in Japan, managing client onboarding. Primary responsibilities include new client onboarding as well as existing client maintenance to ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements including KYC for multiple jurisdictions, FIEL, FATCA, Dodd Frank, EMIR, etc.

Core Responsibilities:
• Manage/facilitate account opening requirements for new and existing clients.
• Review and respond appropriately to sales and client inquiries related to onboarding and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to and manage projects related to onboarding and regulatory changes (e.g. FATCA, Dodd Frank, EMIR, etc).

Skills Required

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Includes problem structuring, analysis, and ability to translate issues into actionable items and recommendations
• Solid judgment to know when to escalate issues and take charge when needed to prevent or minimize the impact of issues.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks according to criticality.
• Strong customer/client relationship skills.
• Ability to quickly digest new information and learn new businesses and processes.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Fluent in English and Japanese (both verbal and written).
• JSDA Level 2
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Applications (MS Access, MS Project, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)

Skills Desired

• Previous employment at a financial institution in a client onboarding or client service related role.
• Familiarity with banking regulations (FIEL, MiFID, FATCA, Dodd Frank, EMIR, etc).
• Experience working in a global team.
• JSDA Level 1 and Internal Control
