Java 7 Scala Python Performance Tuning recruitment
They are laying the ground work for the introduction of Java 7 come the new year. This introduction is for use within the front office to better support dynamic languages such as Ruby, Scala or Python running on top of the JVM. It is anticipated this technology will allow performance improvement of 10 – 15% and allow different approaches to multi-threading. The performance boost and consolidation of their dynamic language code onto the green field single dealer platform means this front office team are looking to adopt the latest technology as soon as possible.
Training in the technology will be given through courses from Java 7 evangelist’s along side the immensely talented team already in place.
This is a very technical role, whilst it will give exposure to the single dealer FX platform and allow access to the business this is not a role for the quant / business types. It is instead a role for those who have a passion and flare for Java and want to be apart of the cutting edge technology working on a project with millions of investment across technology.
Despite this being a front office role the candidates who will be considered need not necessarily be from a banking background. Non banking candidates are welcomed as it is the technical experience which is key to the hiring manager. Experience in Core Java 5/6 is a must as well as strong multi-threading and experience of working on the JVM, ideally with Scala.
However, if banking candidates apply bonus by outs, 30% pay rises and cash sign on’s all on offer.
This is a role within a top tier investment bank so top educations are expected.
