Java Algo Developer £55k recruitment
High performing Equities team looking for GENIUS Java Developer to join their team. As a key member of this team, you will be working on the development of a trading GUI, an Algo platform and a low latency trading platform. These will cover the Futures, Options and Equities spaces globally.
The successful Java developer will be tasked with improving the performance and capacity of the trading systems aforementioned. This means that there will be a huge amount of client contact so candidates must be capable of dealing with Senior Traders and demonstrate the ability to create innovative solutions to give the business what they need.
Design and architecture will play a fair part in this role so candidates should be able to give examples of design solutions they've produced in the past. Similarly candidates will have a very deep understanding of Java as a language and be able to answer university style questions in the interview process. The same goes for multithreading.
The ideal candidate for this role does not necessarily need to come from a financial background. You can come from Telco, Gaming, Air Traffic Control, Defence, anything that has required mission critical software.

* Prior experience in with big data, high-frequency, low-latency systems.
* Strong record of Core Java development experience.
* Knowledge of messaging and middleware frameworks.
* Professional experience working on a Unix/Linux platform, windows experiences also a plus.
